New songs, new videos, at DOTA things are happening in quick succession. Dota Kehr only released the album “Kaléko” last year, after which she set poems by Mascha Kalaéko to music. But Dota Kehr and her musicians do not take time to rest on these laurels. A week ago the band released the corona-conform music video for the imaginative “We call you, Galaktika”, which shows a childlike approach to solving adult problems. The strongly socially critical song is wonderfully catchy despite the rather depressing message and stays in the ear for a long time in typical DOTA manner. DOTA's album, due out on May 28th, will be titled and feature pieces the band has performed live in the past as well as a whole load of brand new material.

Just a few days later, a second single, “Stay”, followed, which is now available on all streaming platforms. A wonderful piece with subtle electronic elements, which comes across as direct and straightforward as usual, but which is still very different from “We call you, Galaktika”. So it will be interesting to see what the listeners can expect on the upcoming record.

After a few streaming shows, including one in Bremer Club 100, there is also a tour. It remains to be seen whether and how this can take place under current circumstances.
The album “We call you, Galaktika” can here can be pre-ordered.
