With another single, LEA is now approaching their new album “Fluss” with a final spurt. The fresh title "Perfume" shows a completely new side of the musician: the beat weighs heavily, the other accompaniment is rather restrained. While LEA is actually known for her clear, fresh voice, she dares to be a little messier here. The stanzas are quick, almost rushed, the tone is darker and permeable. Again and again she plays with her breath and lets her emotions shine through. The song surprises with its addressing of dependencies and one-sided relationships.
“You have something magical about you that nobody seesLEA - perfume
A magic that surrounds you at all times
Like a perfume that you can't buy, feels incredible ”
Again and again LEA pulls her words together on this single and creates a whole new vibe. While the musician's pop beats are usually full of vigor, “Perfume” weighs significantly more heavily. Thematically, too, it shows a whole new world. LEA is lyrically very true to itself, finds comparisons and creates images, and yet the song seems to hit exactly the nerve that Lea describes in the chorus, without the usual frills and the usual perfection. It is 'consuming oneself', at the same time floating above the ground and yet not being free at all.
The video is equally remarkable in that LEA lasciviously stages herself as a spectacular Madonna. Also to the previous acoustic single "If you let me" this song now creates a stronger contrast. Fast, pulsating verses in particular show that LEA has emancipated itself from its features and can also master the freestyle of genre popping on its own. The album "Fluss" will be released on November 5th and already shows that we can expect a diverse spectacle.
